simply Flair

Flair is an inspirational singer, songwriter and producer.  Her music is written to be encouraging and uplifting.  She was born in Detroit, Michigan to a musician father and homemaker mother and became the youngest of nine children.  The surprise package since her parents were in their 40's and her dad called her the last of the Mohicans. 

Flair's interest in music began at the tender age of three when her dad purchased a snare drum she wanted.  In elementary school she played the violin for three years at the top of her class until the music program was discontinued.  At age six her mother noticed loved her love for singing and asked what she wanted to be when she grew up,  Flair replied, "a singer."  It was in the 5th grade glee club she began to spread her vocal wings.

In her mid-teens, Flair began writing songs singing to melodies in her mind.  She then longed to play an instrument again.  In her late teens she requested and received an electric guitar for her birthday.  About the same time she began singing for the high school choir.  Not long after Flair purchased her first keyboard and began to teach herself a second instrument.

Flair's musicial influences include, Jewel, Blake Shelton, Prince and Hillsong.  Self taught on both guitar and piano she is presently adding bass guitar and drums to her musicianship. "I have always caught on fast." She says, "I guess it's because music is in my genes and it's my passion." Part of Flair's background includes playing acoustic guitar on the Praise Team and singing in the church choir.  

Presently Flair plays rhythm guitar and sings background for the Damon Terrell jazz band.  This has allowed her to perform at numerous venues and Festivals Including being a part of opening for R&B group Bell Biv DeVoe.  However, she is available for booking for her own performances.  Flair released her first single "Hope for Tomorrow" she wrote, composed and co-produced in 2022. Currently, she is enjoying working on completing her first full solo project to be released in the near future.
